Haldex is one of the main suppliers for trailer brake systems globally.
Today’s systems provide good functionality and safe braking, but future system requirements are different, due to vehicle electrification and automation. Haldex is now developing the next generation vehicle systems to support the transition to electrified and autonomous commercial vehicles.
The objective for this Master Thesis will be to thru simulations evaluate the energy balance for a refrigerated trailer in typical usage cycles. The trailer will have one or several electrified axles, an energy storage system, roof solar panels, an interface to the truck energy storage system, and any promising variations/combinations of these systems.
- Dimensioning of the individual system components, such as the electrical axle(s), the energy storage system, the solar panels, the refrigeration system and the truck-trailer energy transfer interface.
- Energy usage and energy balance for the best trailer configurations in typical usage cycles including both driving and parking with refrigeration active in different climates.
Required skills & experience
This Master Thesis is suitable for 1-2 persons specializing in engineering physics, controls, electrical engineering or mechatronics engineering. Good communication and English language skills. The Master Thesis is preferably performed at Haldex in Landskrona.
