Senior Controls Engineer, Software Engineer and Systems Engineer (multiple positions) - R&D

In the process of further strengthening the Haldex research and development team we are looking for experienced engineers in the field of controls, software and systems.


The roles offered play a vital role in the engineering of tomorrow’s braking technologies supporting electrification and higher levels of automation, ultimately autonomous drive. Haldex’ board has made a strategic investment decision to go forward developing tomorrow’s technology for safer and electrified vehicles.

The department of Global Vehicle Dynamics within Haldex’ R&D has the responsibility to develop control software and virtual test methodologies for braking systems for commercial vehicles. The current development phase requires recruitment of experienced engineers to set firm practices and routines allowing adaptation to the fast-evolving set of requirements.

Close cooperation with our overseas R&D sites in the UK and USA require the ability to travel and strong communication skills in our corporate language English.

At this stage the roles offered are still open for profile changes, because the team is under strong expansion. We know how- and what game to play, but the team is under construction.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Finding and defining commercial vehicle braking system requirements

  • Software design with respect to architecture

  • Control design and implementation

  • Algorithm design and implementation

  • Design of test automation

  • Design of purpose driven fidelity plant models

  • Model based systems engineering

  • Design of virtual vehicle architecture to support customers’ virtual integration

  • Assisting sales with product material and drive/participate in customer dialogues and events


Required skills & experience

Documented experience in the roles and responsibilities offered, preferably within the automotive business.

Key competencies and qualifications

  • Minimum a master’s degree or equivalent in relevant field of engineering or science

  • Sound understanding of physics and mathematics

  • Computer aided engineering

  • Strong command of the English language; German is a merit

  • A holistic view

  • Valid driving license

  • Ability to travel

  • EU work permit
