Vice President Research & Development, R&D Site Landskrona - R&D

To further intensify Haldex product Leadership strategy we are looking for an experienced R&D Manager to develop the Landskrona R&D Organization for future challenges and opportunities in the commercial vehicle industry.


The VP position plays an essential role in defining the development direction and execution of development and product maintenance plans.

The VP of R&D is responsible for leading the R&D team and managing the development plans to ensure efficient product development and launch. Furthermore the VP of R&D is responsible for engineering activities driven by product maintenance. The responsibility of the VP of R&D spans from the annual budget process based on defined development plans to continuous improvements of the development process and sub processes. The VP of R&D role in the R&D management team is contributing to development of the R&D strategy and technology roadmaps in combination with defining and building the competencies needed for product leadership.

Key roles and responsibilities 

  • Accountable for successful product development planning and execution

  • Motivates and builds a high performing team

  • Budgeting and monitoring of R&D finances

  • Mapping and managing competencies

  • Defines and monitors site and department objectives aligned with the R&D strategy

  • Drives accountability and results from R&D technical disciplines

  • Manages product development and resource management for R&D

  • Communicates effectively

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude

  • Demonstrates strong problem solving skills

  • Member of the associated Product Line teams linked to platform and application

  • Manages and monitors documentation related to product development.

  • Manage and leads improvement work aligned with Haldex R&D strategy

  • Reports R&D site status to SVP R&D

Required skills & experience


+10 years of R&D management, preferably within the automotive business with Tier1/Tier2 supplier role experience. Mechanical, mechatronics and system development for platforms and coordination with OEM for applications. Development of new products involving multi-site development and launch of high volume production at multiple sites.

Key competencies

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering

  • Leadership experience and training

  • Experience in automotive engineering

  • Product/process development and launch experience mandatory

  • Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills

  • Languages: English and preferably German

  • Quality assurance according to APQP
